Cathodic Protection Cable 600 V

Applications
Used for underground DC power supply feeder to cathodic protection systems for pipelines, storage tanks, and other buried or submerged structures.

Nexans Cathodic Protection Cables are suitable for the conditions of use, as required by the Canadian Electrical Code, Rule 80-004(1).   These constructions have an excellent record of field use in the Alberta petroleum industry, and are accepted by the Alberta Municipal Affairs (Electrical Safety Information Bulletin, Sept. 1999).

Cable Construction
Conductors larger than 8 AWG are compact round stranded copper.  8 AWG conductors are compressed stranded copper,  in accordance with applicable CSA and ASTM standards.

Insulation is medium density polyethylene, in accordance with ASTM Specification D-1248, Type II, Class C, Category 4, Grade J4E9.  This material offers mechanical toughness superior to that of low density polyethylene, with no compromise of dielectric strength.

Standard product identification includes:

Manufacturers name and plant code
Year of manufacture
Conductor Size
"MDPE CATHODIC PROTECTION CABLE"
Sequential length in metres (available upon request)

Insulation colour is black for positive (anode) cables.  Colours are as specified for negative (cathode) cables.

Maximum conductor temperature rating is 75 °C.

Packaging

Cable is shipped in coils or reels (as requested), in lengths as specified.  Coils are supplied on pallets (shrink-wrapped).
